Alistair has 25 years’ experience encompassing scientific research, technical consulting and policy advice, as well as time as a teacher of science (geology and chemistry).

Alistair’s career began as a scientific research officer at the British Geological Survey involved in projects funded by UK and European energy and waste industry regulators. This comprised work to understand chemistry and fluid flow through engineered and natural materials used for the disposal of domestic and nuclear waste. His consulting work has included managerial, scientific and engineering roles in environmental project assessments, with a focus on groundwater and contaminated land, as well as environmental due diligence, economic evaluations and appraisals, urban regeneration, sustainable procurement and assessment, strategy formation and feasibility studies.
