World-class training for the modern energy industry

Howard Feldman

Howard is currently a Consultant geologist (Feldman Geosciences LLC) and also Affiliate Faculty, Department of Geosciences, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado.

Howard has over 30 years of experience working on petroleum geology in exploration, production, development, and research. He spent 26 years in a wide range of geoscience positions in ExxonMobil, and before that spent 7 years in the Petroleum Section of the Kansas Geological Survey.

He has broad expertise interpreting reservoir distribution and architecture at a wide range of scales in all clastic systems. He has described and interpreted well over 10 kilometers of core from many basins around the world. He has expertise applying clastic facies models and building predictive sequence stratigraphic frameworks through integrating core, well logs, and seismic. Current interests include fluvial architecture and how this influences sediment delivery to deep water, and the earliest deposits as new ocean basins form.

Howard has published research articles on petroleum geology in the Journal of Sedimentary Research, AAPG Bulletin, and several book chapters, and has co-edited an SEPM book on sequence stratigraphy.
