Jeff has worked as a geologist in the oil and gas industry for over 35 years: with Marathon Oil Company, Enron Oil & Gas, GeoQuest Reservoir Technologies, DDD Energy and most recently EOG Resources as Chief Stratigrapher and then Chief Geologist. Areas of interest include sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy as well as seismic stratigraphic studies of basins and fields worldwide. He has worked projects across the Americas, Egypt and Indonesia. Jeff has led classroom and field seminars on clastic facies, deep-water sandstones, mudrocks, and sequence stratigraphy, and has published numerous papers and abstracts on deep-water sandstones, sequence stratigraphy, and geophysical interpretation. He has twice been presented the best luncheon speaker award by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists, was honored with the Frank Kottlowski award for best speaker in the Energy Minerals Division at the AAPG annual convention in 2012, completed an AAPG Distinguished Lecture tour, and received the Outstanding Scientist Award from RMAG (shared with Donna Anderson) in 2017.
