Kevin Taylor

Kevin is currently Professor in Energy Geoscience, The University of Manchester.

 

Kevin’s research and teaching interests include the application of field and laboratory geological observations to energy systems, and he is currently focussed on energy storage, shallow geothermal and heat storage, and the use of the sub-surface to store and dispose of waste materials, including CO2 and nuclear waste.

Kevin works closely with the energy industry as well as UK Government bodies. He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers and has supervised over 50 PhD students. He is on the editorial team of the international journals “GeoEnergy” and “Sedimentology”.

Kevin currently leads the MSc course in Geoscience for Sustainable Energy at the University of Manchester, as well as teaching on MSc Petroleum Geoscience and undergraduate geology programmes.
